I am the eldest daughter of John J. Mulick who passed away in 1999. John was honored in October of 2013 when I was invited to give a presentation on his time in WWII in connection with Veterans Day. In attendance was the current Commander of the Sayville chapter of the VFW (of which John was a four-term Commander) along with two other officers of that organization.
I also authored an article written about Lt Col Joseph J. Fenty, Jr. (Army) KIA in Afghanistan in May of 2006. The article surrounded a street renaming in his honor while highlighting the wonderful man and dedicated soldier he was. I was humbled to have had the article read aloud on Memorial Day 2012 as part of the Memorial Day services with his Gold Star mother at my side. It is a moment I will never forget. This article remains on permanent display in Fort Benning, Ga. as part of an exhibit dedicated to this fine soldier.
I am excited to be a member of this website.
