I am the son of an Army PFC who served in World War II with CO I 16th Infantry and participated in seven campaign's throughout Europe. Not until early last year were my family aware of the extent of my fathers service with his unit, including being awarded the Soldiers Medal as well as the Bronze Star. From time to time I do some research on the web but an article in the most recent American Legion Magazine on the 16th Infantry caught my eye and that is when I came across your website. Hard to believe just how much the 16th Infantry contributed to the war effort and all the sacrifices they all made for all of us that to this day enjoy the freedoms we just seem to take for granted. Thank you all for keeping their memories alive for not only my generation but for my children's children. I too have served my country during the Viet Nam era in the USMC. My office proudly displays my Dad's awards of valor and heroism for his actions during those campaigns and anyone who see's it remarks on it as well as his contribution.

Just happened to come across your web this morning and as the son of a deceased PFC who was assigned to Co I 16th Infantry during WWII, I am proud to say that I can participate in enjoying what you all have preserved for all generations to come. Keep up the good work on behalf of all veterans, including myself who served during Viet Nam with the USMC.
